A Spring CI workshop Sponsored by Contact Improv Boston:

Hacking Contact Improv

Breaking Movement Habits with Spontaneous Curiosity

with Moti Zemelman

  ❀   April 26-27, 2014   ❀

A hacker is someone who loves to innovate and who enjoys solving problems in playful, clever, or non-obvious ways.  In CI we are programmers of our bodies, full of this spirit of playfulness and exploration. Movement habits can be patterns that make us numb to this joy.  Let’s get out of the way of our own habits. Embracing the CI adage “Replace ambition with curiosity”, we'll play with modifying ingredients in our dances such as timing, space, shape and disorientation. Discover new pathways to lift and be lifted, new timing that make our dances both spacious and unconstrained, and new ways to be spontaneous in the now.

Beginners welcome - As long as you have at least some basic experience (such as a few classes and/or jamming experience)
