My friend Prakash shared this link with me today. It's the first internet audio clip that I know of that features Contact Improvisers talking about the form. The montage of voices was put together using extracts from interviews with 14 dancers involved in this project. The use of an audio montage nicely mirrors the co-creative flow that happens in the dance. Click the link below and then click on Sounds: "Contact Improvisation"

Here's some video clips of contact improvisation I just found on the web today - www.dropshots.com/jctobino . I found them on a forum that I highly recommend checking out - contactimprov.tribe.net.

I've newly installed a translation program for many of the pages, though it's nothing like having a live person do the translating, so I'm sure there will be some amusement to be had. For instance, "Contact Jam" in the German translation became "Contact Traffic Jam" and in French "Contact Confiture (Preserves)"!! and Spanish - "Contact Cloggings"!!

Today I found a CI site in Kiev, Ukraine, which I've added to the links and listed their weekly contact jam. A wonderful discovery on their site when I put it into my Russian translation service was this translation of how they describe Contact Improv:
"The dance of happiness and spontaneous game of space"

Happy New Year dear dancing friends!
I've just returned home from the wonderful Earthdance New Years Jam with lots of great feedback about this site from encouraging friends and dancers. A few folks there volunteered to host forum topics in the "Dance Floor" - CI Forum. I need a bunch more volunteer moderators to make the forum a happening place for our community to dialogue. I am offering a free top level membership to each moderator who will hold a topic for a minimum of six months. I also encourage everyone to become a member of this site! There are FREE Basic Memberships or Supporting Membership Levels you choose!
