Jacqueline Rubinstein is dedicated to creative, powerful, healing movement that makes you feel good. She has been a mover and a shaker in the Improvisational Dance and Feldenkrais Method scenes since 2004. She is the proud Owner and Director of SomaSpace, a Creative Arts Movement Studio, and Move With Ease, her Chronic Pain & Repetitive Injury Recovery Practice. After 20 years of traditional dance training, she fell deeply in love with the innovative and life-affirming world of Improvisational Movement. Since completing a degree in improvisational choreography from Wesleyan University, she has led hundreds of creative and somatic movement classes. After over 10 years of dancing in this amazing form, I am teaching a combination of contact improvisation and body-mind centering® in Portland, Oregon. This event is only open to the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC community. This container is currently hosted and held by Leland Hull, a trans white queer, and Mango Kat Hernandez, a queer white passing latinx. We offer a vision of solidarity rooted in safer CI spaces. This jam is intended to provide a practice space for communities that are under represented in the mainstream CI world. If any facilitators are interested in joining this journey, please feel free to inquire.

Each jam opens with a short class lead by rotating facilitators and transitions into open jamming. Extra instruction available. Beginners welcome.

Contact Improv All-Night Jam

An evening of contact improv, play, relaxation and community. We come together to explore the worlds of touch, deep listening, intuitive expression and conscious connection. The studio is ours for the entire evening. We dance as long as we like and go home in sweet exhaustion.

$15 pre-registered space is limited and usually fills to capacity of 35 people.
