Nicole Bindler, Body-based performing artist and Somatic Movement Educator, has had an extensive movement and Somatic education, including certificates in Embodied Developmental Movement and Yoga (2013) and Embodied Anatomy Yoga (2010) from the School for Body-Mind Centering; a degree in Muscular Therapy from the Muscular Therapy Institute (2002); a BA in Dance from Hampshire College (1999). Her work has been shown throughout the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Berlin, Tokyo, Beirut, Mexico and Quito (Ecuador). She has been supported by Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Philadelphia Dance Projects and the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage. She has taught Somatics, Contact Improvisation and Performance Practice throughout the U.S., Argentina and at International Contact Festival Freiburg in Germany.

Pittsburgh is hosting regular Wednesday night mini-classes and jams from 7-9pm at the Wilkins School Community Center in the Regent Square neighborhood.

Contact Improvisation is a form that encourages movers of all disciplines and movement styles to test the capacity of their bodies, explore their creativity, and build skills, in the mode of connecting and moving with others. Contact improvisation encourages true listening, respect and reverence for fellow dancers, conversation through movement, safety, skill building, and artistic development and refinement.

Musicians are always invited to collaborate with movers.
